Mike Ryder is a premier coach, visionary executive, and program builder who has dedicated over 15 years to pioneering and elevating the sport of lacrosse across the state. Inducted into the Florida Lacrosse Hall of Fame, Ryder’s career is defined by a relentless commitment to excellence, strategic growth, and the holistic development of student-athletes and coaches alike across the collegiate, scholastic, club, and international levels.

Contribution to Florida Lacrosse

• Collegiate & Elite Program Foundations: - Coached the foundational staff that launched the University of Tampa’s NCAA program (2011), establishing a permanent collegiate footprint in Tampa Bay. - Served as Offensive Coordinator for IMG Academy’s National Team, securing a 16-1 record and a No. 5 national ranking (2015). • Club Ecosystem Innovation: - Founded and directed 3d Florida (2018), transforming it into one of the state’s premier club organizations. - Created a high-exposure recruitment pipeline that elevated the state's talent profile, helping dozens of local student-athletes secure NCAA roster spots. • Scholastic Excellence: - As Head Coach of Berkeley Preparatory School (2019–Present), engineered a powerhouse program resulting in multiple district championships and consecutive FHSAA state playoff appearances. - Named the USA Lacrosse Gulf Coast Coach of the Year (2025). • Regional Governance & Leadership: - Serves as Chair of the USA Lacrosse Gulf Coast Chapter, directly overseeing the region’s annual All-American selection process and advancing the game's infrastructural integrity. • Wins & Longevity: Compiled 135+ victories with a 63% winning percentage within the state of Florida across a 15-year career. • Holistic Legacy: Mentored dozens of coaches, built sustainable multi-level programs, and systematically expanded access to high-level lacrosse for the next generation of Florida athletes.
